History

England has an incredible heritage of oak framed buildings. There is no better example of their enduring beauty than the farmhouse built by John Domulton at Brockhampton, Herefordshire in 1385, long before the last proper castle was completed in England at Thornbury, Bristol.

 


The character and strength of the oak combined with masterful craftsmanship means it looks as good now as the day it was finished 618 years ago! Oak buildings nearly 1000 years old can still be found in England today. The natural beauty of the wood is handcrafted to create a structure that is a real joy.
